ENCUENTRO, 2018

With their new project "Encuentro", the tango quintet Deseo de Tango dedicates entirely to the theme of encounters, the clash of differences and the resulting new exchange. The dancers Cinthia Labaronne and Jens Krueger will interpret the music to be performed live with dance movements, creating a tango evening for all the senses. Deseo de Tango is working closely with the dance couple to develop the performance as a complete work.

5 OVER 7, 2016

While devolving into their individual cultural backgrounds, the musicians of

«Deseo de Tango» have discovered a common sense of expression in the music of Tango Nuevo. The quintet’s album « 5 over 7 » offers a representative selection of their work during these years, primarily devoted to the compositions of Argentinian composers Astor Piazzolla, Rodolfo Mederos and Hugo Potenza.

INNENSICHT, 2008

Interested in Deseo de Tango, Swiss composer Jürg Itten wrote the two pieces Acacia Toward Sky and Cloud Over Purple for the ensemble.

With these creations, Deseo de Tango opens up in style towards the direction of jazz and minimal music. The two titles are combined on a concert-by-concert basis with Deseo de Tango's tried-and-tested repertoire, or is placed in a religious setting with other works by Jürg Itten.

Premiere: Thursday 23 October 2008 in Grafenried.
